Reporting to the Resident Engineer, you will conduct daily inspections of all civil construction activities, materials, and components. Your keen eye for detail and expertise in industry certifications will be vital as you document non-conforming conditions and verify corrective actions, ensuring all work meets rigorous contract specifications for successful project delivery.

Director of Design Services

As a Director of Design Services, you will oversee Zephyr Rail’s engineering design practice for rail and transit projects, managing plan production, quality assurance, and technical mentorship on complex rail initiatives. Your focus will be on ensuring design quality, constructability, and adherence to industry standards, working directly within Bentley design platforms to review, guide, and validate engineering outputs. This position is perfect for an experienced rail design professional who blends advanced technical skills with leadership qualities and a dedication to fostering high-performing design teams.

Hydrologic & Hydraulic (H&H) Engineer

As a Hydrologic and Hydraulic (H&H) Engineer, you will be key to our design team, leading drainage design, water resources engineering, and hydraulic modeling for complex rail projects, especially for Class I railroads, commuter rail, and transit authorities. You’ll create engineering solutions, prepare technical reports, support permitting, and collaborate across teams. Your duties include technical analyses, developing drainage solutions, producing detailed reports, designing stormwater systems, and ensuring project compliance with regulations.

Office Engineer - Los Angeles

As an Office Engineer, you will serve as the primary on-site leader for Zephyr Rail. You will be a vital member of the project team, offering crucial administrative and technical support to the resident engineer and field staff. Your responsibilities include managing all project documentation, such as submittals, RFIs, and progress reports. This role acts as a central hub for project coordination and contract administration, ensuring accurate record-keeping and smooth information flow to facilitate the successful execution of complex rail and transportation projects.

Project/Field Engineer

As a Project/Field Engineer, you will serve as the Client’s on-site representative for complex rail and transportation capital projects. In this role, you will provide field engineering, construction oversight, coordination, and contract administration to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with contract requirements. You will collaborate closely with contractors, designers, public agencies, and stakeholders to proactively manage risks, resolve field issues, and maintain quality throughout the construction lifecycle.

Resident Engineer

As a Resident Engineer, you will serve as the primary on-site leader for Zephyr Rail, overseeing quality, safety, and compliance for complex rail and transportation projects. Your role involves managing all phases of construction from initial constructability reviews to final project completion. You will lead and coordinate a team of inspectors, function as the key liaison between contractors and stakeholders, and ensure all work adheres strictly to plans and specifications. This position is a critical intersection of construction management, on-site supervision, and contract administration, with a focus on the successful delivery of multi-million-dollar transit and transportation projects.

Safety Manager

As a Safety Manager, you will be a key leader responsible for developing, implementing, and enforcing a comprehensive safety program for Zephyr Rail’s rail and transportation projects. You will oversee all on-site safety protocols, conduct inspections, and ensure full compliance with FRA, OSHA, and other regulatory standards to protect all personnel and assets. This role is crucial for fostering a proactive safety culture and mitigating risk across all project phases.
